Raphael Varane informs Manchester United he’s ‘ready’ to accept contract offer

Manchester United have edged closer to signing Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.

After 10-years at the Bernabeu, it looks like Raphael Varane is set to move on to a new chapter in his career.

He’s won it all with Real Madrid — including three La Liga titles and the Champions League on four separate occasions.

The Spanish giants appear to be struggling in the transfer market to strengthen ahead of next season and it would prove costly if they were to lose Varane on a free next summer (the Frenchman has 1-year left on his current deal).

Transfer guru and friend of the Strettycast, Fabrizio Romano, has tweeted the latest on the saga to report that the World Cup winner has told Real Madrid he wishes to experience the Premier League.

On top of that, he has confirmed directly to United that he’s ready to accept their contract offer.

Romano tweeted: “Raphael Varane and his agent confirmed to Real Madrid his desire to try a new experience in the Premier League. He’ll be respectful waiting for the club agreement — but he wants Man United.

“Varane also confirmed to Man Utd he’d be ‘ready’ to accept their contract bid.”

It now sounds like Harry Maguire is finally set to be partnered by a world-class centre-back.

This news will excite Reds all around the world.
