Man Utd expected to make second bid for La Liga star defender

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to be keen on repeating a trick from last summer as he targets a move for Kieran Trippier. The Norwegian boss added Alex Telles to his already bloated squad in a bid to add competition and is seemingly doing the same on the other side of defence.

There is confusion over whether Trippier has one or two years remaining on his contract at Atletico Madrid but having already had one bid rejected for the 30-year-old, it is expected to be followed by an improved offer.

That’s according to Daily Mirror journalist Tom Hopkinson, who claims that Trippier is keen on a move back to England this summer as Manchester United are in the market to sign him.

It is claimed that despite having their initial offer rebuffed, the Old Trafford club is expected to make a second bid. Trippier, who is from the area and is a former Manchester City player, was a mainstay in Diego Simeone’s side as Atletico Madrid won their first league title since 2014.
