Manchester United are closing in on a sensational double swoop for players from both Madrid clubs, according to reports. The club has been strongly linked to a move for Raphael Varane and Kieran Trippier this summer and if reports are to be believed, deals are nearing a positive conclusion.
Varane has one year remaining on his contract at Real Madrid and has seemingly been looking for a way out of the Spanish club, whilst Trippier, after two years abroad with Atletico Madrid, is said to be interested in a return to England.
That’s according to The Sun, who claim that Manchester United are now closing in on a double swoop for both players in deals worth £50m and £18m respectively.
With the first set of pre-season fixtures set to be played this weekend and first-team regulars slowly returning from holiday, it could be a busy couple of weeks for the Manchester United hierarchy.
On top of links to Varane and Trippier, an official announcement for the signing of Jadon Sancho is expected this week.
