Man Utd midfielder closes in on move to Premier League club

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard is closing in on a move to West Ham, according to reports. Lingard enjoyed a stellar second half of the season after he joined David Moyes’ side on a six-month loan.

The midfielder scored nine goals in his brief spell at the London Stadium and has now reportedly attracted the interest of West Ham again as he nears the end of his contract at Old Trafford.

According to West Ham insider Claret and Hugh, a return to the club is ‘edging closer’ and that opening talks have been held between Lingard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over a potential exit.

It is also added that sources have indicated to them that Lingard sees his chances of regular first-team football to be reduced, especially after the signing of Jadon Sancho.

There had been previous inclinations that Lingard could end up signing a new contract at Manchester United but a move this summer, or a departure next year on a free transfer, seems far more plausible.
