Arnau Puigmal joins Almeria after Manchester United contract expires

Arnau Puigmal has left Manchester United.

Spanish side Almeria confirm that they’ve signed the 20-year-old midfielder, who has put pen to paper on a contract running until 2026.

Puigmal scored 7 goals in 12 matches at the start of the season for United’s U23s, but it never quite looked like he was jumping towards a new deal anytime soon.

The youngster let his contract expire to return to his homeland.

The midfielder will now play in the Spanish second division in the 2021/22 campaign, where he is bound to be reunite with a fellow United youth team teammate Largie Ramazani.

Hopefully, as a result of this brave move, I hope Puigmal has a chance to break into the first team at Almeria. It would have been difficult to breakthrough at United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer only wants players who feel as though they belong at the world’s biggest club.

We wish Puigmal all the best with his career.
