La Liga clubs interested in Manchester United’s highest earner

Manchester United’s goalkeeping department has been more secure than any in the tumultuous years since Sir Alex Ferguson retired but that has changed over the last two or three years and especially this summer.

Tom Heaton signed for the club earlier this summer on a free transfer, Sergio Romero and Joel Pereira have both left the club permanently and David de Gea is in the midst of battling Dean Henderson for the number one spot. On top of that, Lee Grant recently signed a one-year extension to his contract.

Dean Henderson’s rise through the Premier League with Sheffield United convinced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to trust him at United, with the 24-year-old ending last season as the first choice.

And according to journalist Rudy Galetti, as seen above, Valencia and Villareal are interested in overseeing De Gea’s return to Spain as his position is under threat at Old Trafford.

The Spaniard is the highest earner at the club, raking home a whopping £375,000 per week. Only Paul Pogba comes close to that figure but with two years remaining on his deal, an easy and smooth transition away from the club seems unlikely.

  1. Would love to see Kasper Schmeichel join us and Following in the footsteps of his father. I think he would do well and only become stronger. Still not convinced that Henderson is good enough to hold the number 1 spot on a full-time basis
