Leicester City have identified Manchester United winger Daniel James as a target this summer, according to reports. The young winger struggled to make an impact for his club last season but is said to have attracted interest from Brendan Rodgers’ side.

James impressed for Wales in this summer’s European Championship, featuring in all their games and creating more chances than any other Wales player.

It now seems that his fine performance for his country has put Premier League clubs on alert, with Manchester Gazette, via Leicester Mercury, now reporting that Rodgers has identified the winger as a possible summer signing.

With Jadon Sancho closing in on a move to Old Trafford this summer and Mason Greenwood’s continued rise, it is unlikely that James will be given enough chances to impress Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Amad Diallo’s arrival last year will also complicate matters for the former Swansea player. Regardless, James is expected to return from vacation late in July and take part in Manchester United’s pre-season preparations.
