Jose Mourinho must be watching Euro 2020 with a sense of regret. Luke Shaw’s performances are getting even better – and that’s after maintaining a world-class standard for the entire 2020/21 season.
Shaw registered his first assist of the tournament in England’s 2-0 win over Germany earlier this week but was once again key to Gareth Southgate’s side’s attacking output as England edged closer to the semi-finals.
The defender had a cross in the first-half intercepted with a great header but the 25-year-old repeated the trick just after the interval. That time, Harry Maguire met the ball and gave England a two-goal cushion in the tie.
