What Jadon Sancho wanted Marcus Rashford to ask Man United last summer

Prior to an agreement being reached for Manchester United to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, it has been claimed that the English attacker asked forward Marcus Rashford to ask his employers to pay the money required to seal his transfer.

That’s according to a recent report from The Athletic, who claims Sancho’s impending transfer, subject to a medical, to United has been in the works for nearly three years.

The outlet note that the club first targetted Sancho in 2019, however, due to how complicated a deal would have been then, the Red Devils turned their attention to Swansea’s Daniel James.

However, with the deal now agreed, which will see United pay Dortmund £73m over the next five years, Sancho is expected to be unveiled as a Red Devils after this summer’s Euros 2020.

Interestingly though, despite it taking nearly three years, The Athletic claim Sancho has been pushing for this move for quite some time.

It has been reported that last summer saw the winger nudge compatriot and good friend Rashford and say: “Can you ask Ed to pay the money please?”

As per a recent statement on the club’s official website, Sancho is expected to undergo his medical once England’s Euros campaign comes to an end.
