(Official) Man United announce agreement for Jadon Sancho

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last 18-months you’d have known that Manchester United quite like a young fella called Jadon Sancho.

Sancho, 21, has been playing in the Bundesliga since 2017 when he made the decision to move from Manchester City’s youth academy in search of more senior game time.

The controversial and somewhat pioneering move has turned out to be an incredibly successful one.

After taking Germany’s top-flight by storm, Sancho, who has been involved in 114 goals in 137 games, has grown to become of Europe’s most exciting talents.

Despite being United’s number one transfer target last summer, both clubs struggled to reach an agreement, leaving the attacker with no choice but to remain in Germany for the following campaign.

However, seemingly reluctant to give up in their pursuit, the Red Devils continued to pursue a deal and reports on Wednesday suggested the club had finally secured the winger’s transfer.

The latest now comes from the club, who have confirmed that Wednesday’s reports were accurate and pending a medical, the young English attacker will become a United player after this summer’s Euros 2020 come to an end.

The club has released a statement on their official website, which reads: “Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Jadon Sancho.

The signing is subject to contractual terms and a medical, which will be completed after Jadon’s involvement in the UEFA European Championship.”
