Manchester United have been handed a huge transfer boost after it was claimed that one of their targets is keen on a move to the club. Kieran Trippier has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford and according to recent reports, the former Tottenham defender wants to make it happen.
Andy Mitten, editor of United We Stand and contributing writer at The Athletic, has provided an update on the situation but has insisted that Atletico Madrid hold all the cards.
Andy Mitten on United’s pursuit of Kieran Trippier from reddevils
“Manchester United want him and as I understand it, he wants to join United,” Mitten told Sony Sport India “He’s happy in Madrid and his club do not want to sell him. Diego Simeone is a big admirer of Trippier, who was a La Liga winner with Atletico Madrid last season.”
Manchester United are said to be in the hunt for a right-back in order to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was the only natural right-back at the club last season. Diogo Dalot will return to the club after a season-long loan at AC Milan but doubts over his future remain.
