AC Milan target Dean Henderson as Manchester United keeper situation remains up in the air

AC Milan are preparing a bid for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, according to reports.

Football Insider suggests the Italian club has set their sights on the England international, 24, as a potential replacement for the brilliant Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Henderson got a run in the United team this year under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – starting 10 of the last 12 Premier League matches — although we can only imagine the player was disappointed at missing out on the Europa League final against Villarreal as the season came to a close.

Solskjaer knows he has a talented keeper in Henderson but a decision will need to come soon, especially if David de Gea stays at the club for another season.

Last year, Henderson put pen to paper over a five-year deal with United following a successful two years at Sheffield United – with the Red Devils having an option to extend that deal by a further year.

  1. Dean Henderson should be the first choice. He has age on his side, has done relatively & can still improve. De Gea is now unconvincing at a time when he should be at his peak. A change of environment may be the best option he should for the sake of his career.
