David de Gea is feeling confident about his first choice role at Manchester United ahead of next season.
The Spanish shot-stopper had a mixed campaign and it’s been over three years since we’ve seen him at his consistent best in a United shirt. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had over a year to think about his goalkeeping situation but now it is decision time.
De Gea started ahead of Dean Henderson in the Europa League final last month against Villarreal and flopped in the penalty shootout. It led to questions about the keeper’s future, but the player doesn’t think he will be leaving Old Trafford this summer, as per The Sun.
On top of that, De Gea reckons he will be first choice next season, with Tom Heaton potentially coming back to the club as back-up.
Where does that leave Henderson?
The report also adds that United think De Gea is currently worth £60m.
