Manchester United have been alerted as Real Madrid captain and star player Sergio Ramos looks almost certain to leave the club this summer. The defender is out of contract and is free to negotiate with other clubs and a departure from Spain looks likely.

Ramos, who has been linked with United many times over the past decade, has been in talks with Real Madrid over fresh terms for months but an agreement has never been reached.

The 35-year-old was dealt another blow when it was revealed that he would be excluded from Spain’s Euro squad despite being fit and ready to go.

According to AS, the Spaniard is ‘certain’ to leave the Bernabeu this summer. The news has put a number of clubs on alert as they try to lure Ramos to a new country.

Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with Ramos throughout the season but there is supposed interest from both Manchester clubs too. With time not on Ramos’ side, it remains to be seen whether any of the clubs will make him a multi-year offer, rather than the usual 12-month deal for older players.
