The 2020/21 season ended in disappointment for Manchester United but it came with some brilliant moments along the way. After a terrible start owing to fitness issues, United recovered and went on a spectacular run of form – mostly away from home.
United’s brilliant away form started much earlier than the start of last season, however. It goes back to January 2020, when they suffered their last defeat on the road.
Solskjær’s side lost 2-0 at Anfield on January 19 2020, the last time they have made the trip back to Manchester without a single point.
United went on to lose just one game for the rest of that season, which came at Old Trafford. And they took that form into last season, extending their unbeaten run away from home to 26 games, one off the Premier League record.

The spectacular run in the 2020/21 season includes a breathtaking comeback against Southampton, a Paul Pogba inspired victory at Tottenham and a win at Manchester City which ended their winning run.
United are currently just one game without defeat away from equalling the all-time Premier League record, which is held by Arsenal when they went 27 games unbeaten in 2004.
