Mason Greenwood rewrites Man United history with iconic achievement

Manchester United teenager Mason Greenwood has re-written the Red Devils’ history books.

Following his impressive emergence from the club’s illustrious youth ranks, Greenwood has grown to establish himself as a vital part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans.

Since making his senior competitive debut in 2019, the young English attacker has gone on to feature in 101 matches, in all competitions.

In light of his most recent performance, Sunday afternoon’s Premier League match against Aston Villa saw Greenwood get among the goals, once again.

Helping to ensure the Red Devils would complete a familiar second-half comeback, Greenwood’s strike just after 50-minutes gifted his side the lead which was later doubled by strike partner Edinson Cavani.

Following what was yet another impressive showing by the 19-year-old, Greenwood’s latest showing now sees him write his name in the club’s history books.

Sunday’s strike away to Aston Villa sees Greenwood reach 16 Premier League career goals – a record he now holds all by himself.

Greenwood’s latest heroics has now made him the club’s most prolific domestic goalscorer since the days of a certain Wayne Rooney.
