Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted his Manchester United team won’t lose momentum ahead of a defining week despite a dull 0-0 draw against Leeds at Elland Road.
United’s performance in West Yorkshire was a far cry from the 6-2 demolition of Marcelo Bielsa’s side in December at Old Trafford.
The Reds created few chances of note, with Marcus Rashford going close with a free-kick and Bruno Fernandes firing wide.
It was a game surprisingly void of any real quality as pre-match expectations were not met against their old rivals.
Solskjaer believes his side ‘played well’ and said they dominated in the second-half, but was frustrated that chances weren’t taken.
The United boss added that his players put a ‘really big shift down’ against a Leeds team who struggled to sustain any attacking pressure.
United’s draw at Elland Road is the start of a huge week for the Reds, with the home leg of their Europa League semi-final tie against Roma coming up on Thursday and a Premier League clash against Liverpool to follow next Sunday.
