(Video) Daniel Gore heads Man Utd U18s into lead v Salford City – FA Youth Cup

Iestyn Hughes made a wonderful first-time cross leaving Daniel Gore with the rest to do at the back post.

Manchester United U18s survived a scramble to head into half-time with the lead.

The goal came thanks to Gore who converted his header after a stunning cross from Hughes.

Former scout and youth team coach Lee Waddington says Gore is a unique talent.

Speaking about the England U16 international, Waddington says he is confident Gore can become a first team player for United one day.

“I think he’s an extraordinary talent,” Waddington told the MEN. “Great lad, fantastic work ethic, feet on the ground but he’s just got that unpredictability about him. To either score goals or make goals.

“He’s the toughest attacking player I’ve coached in my 30 years. I think he’s got a massive, massive future there.”

The kid must be doing something right at United to be called up to the U18s and to start in an FA Youth Cup match – a competition he has more years than most of his peers to compete in.
