Manchester United are frontrunners to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.

The Bayer Leverkusen attacker has been enjoying an excellent campaign after already racking up 21 direct goal involvements in 32 appearances, in all competitions.

The Jamaican attacker’s inspired form has seen him emerge as a genuine target for some of football’s biggest clubs, including Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils.

We reported all the way back at the start of the year that United’s recruitment team was seriously interested in the Bayer Leverkusen winger.

However, despite the player being professionally advised against pushing for a move away from Germany in January, as the summer window fast approaches, the efforts to land Bailey have been ramped up.

We understand that Bailey only has eyes for a Premier League move which has prompted both Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan to withdraw their interest.

However, in a desperate attempt to try and snap the highly-rated 23-year-old up, as well as United and Spurs, Everton have also joined the race.

We understand that all three clubs are continuing to negotiate a potential transfer, not just with the player’s representatives, but also with Bayer Leverkusen directly.

Most excitingly though, Stretty News can exclusively reveal that despite the attacker remaining committed to his side until the end of the season, and as well as being aware of the strong interest shown in him, his ambition is to join United and something his representatives are trying to put in place.
