Manchester United midfielder being tracked by Serie A giants

Juan Mata is being tracked by Juventus, Roma and Inter Milan as his Manchester United future hangs in the balance.

The Spaniard has been pushed down the pecking order by younger players, but is still the type of professional managers want to keep around the dressing room. I think that’s why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave him the last contract but it’s almost time to ask whether he will get another deal at Old Trafford?

United have an option to extend Mata’s deal by 12 months but The Sun report Juventus, Roma and Inter Milan are all looking into a free transfer for the 32-year-old, who has only started eight matches so far this season.

The report adds that Mata is believed to want more regular football and that appears unlikely at United.

As well as that, moving to Italy has worked for the likes of Ashley Young and Alexis Sanchez, and by joining either Roma or Inter he could unite with former United team-mates.

Romelu Lukaku, Sanchez and Young are all on course to win the Serie A title this season. Inter are leading the way at the moment and beat second place Milan in a brilliant derby last weekend.
