Daniel James hails Manchester United starlet Amad Diallo

Daniel James has been impressed by Manchester United new signing Amad Diallo.

The 18-year-old arrived at Old Trafford in January and has been training with the first-team, thus far appearing mostly for the Under-23s and managing two senior appearances.

James hit the ground running after scoring against Chelsea on his debut, however, after almost a year rarely playing has jumped back on the scene with goals against Real Sociedad and Newcastle in United’s last two games.

The speedy Welshman rates Amad and was quick to hail his new team-mate.

He told the club’s official website: “Amad has come in and, as a young lad, he’s been unbelievable in training.

“I mean his professionalism [is very good] and he’s settled in straight away, I’d say, do you know what I mean?

“We see his quality in training, he has unbelievable feet, but we’ve seen he also presses well and wins the ball back, which is exactly what we want.”

James has always shown unbelievable work-rate on the pitch, so this is good praise from another United player who has always shown top professionalism.

We want the best young players at the club but they need to be willing to work hard in order to develop. The coaches take huge responsibility but so does each player.

There’s a good chance we’ll see both James and Amad on Thursday night against Real Sociedad, when the La Liga side come to Old Trafford after losing the first-leg 4-0.
