Man Utd youngster Ethan Galbraith could feature in second leg v Real Sociedad

Manchester United’s Europa League second leg tie could see Ethan Galbraith get a deserved opportunity in the first team.

The Northern Ireland international has been called up into the squad, as confirmed by UEFA’s official squad list.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a number of injury problems in midfield which makes it the perfect time to bring Galbraith into the frame, with United going into their second leg against Real Sociedad with a four goal advantage. Paul Pogba is still out injured, and we’re not sure whether Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek will be ready to take the La Liga outfit on after missing the win over Newcastle last weekend.

The manager doesn’t need to take any unnecessary risks with his selection.

United have one foot in the last 16 of the Europa League and Sociedad need to be winning 5-0.

Not going to happen.

This will hopefully be the chance Galbraith has been waiting for.

Galbraith featured as a substitute in United’s only pre-season game versus Aston Villa but has since been heavily involved with the U23s. He played 90 minutes on Monday night as Everton’s U23s won the match.
