Facundo Pellistri expected to arrive in Spain on Sunday ahead of loan move

Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri is on the verge of completing a loan move to La Liga side Deportivo Alaves.

The Uruguayan, 19, joined Manchester United on deadline day in the summer but has yet to make a first-team debut after spending most of his time to date with the U23s.

Pellistri attracted interest from United after impressing for former side CA Penarol, where he was managed briefly by Solskjaer’s former United teammate Diego Forlan.

He has spent the first half of the season adjusting to life in England, but the manager has been extra careful by not throwing him in for the sake of it.

From playing with the U23s, Pellistri has four goals in his first eight appearances, which is not a bad tally for a wing player.

And it sounds like United are edging to loan him out this month — with plenty of interest from Spanish and Italian clubs, as per Diario de Almeria. It will do him good to go out and gain first-team experience in one of Europe’s top leagues.

However, according to GOAL, Pellistri will join Alaves on loan and is due to fly out to Spain on Sunday.
