Marcus Rashford matches The King’s Manchester United goalscoring record

It’s crazy to think Marcus Rashford is just 23-years-old and has 82 goals for Manchester United.

His performances at times this season have been below par but Marcus Rashford is a player that when he gets going there’s not stopping him.

From his assist for Mason Greenwood to scoring Manchester United’s second goal against Liverpool, Rashford caused havoc for Jurgen Klopp and was one of the many players they had to be fearful of this evening at Old Trafford.

Rashford is always busy whether it’s on or off the pitch as we know from our coverage of his charitable work throughout the pandemic to help feed vulnerable families in the UK, but he’s also reaching incredible milestones on the pitch, so it defeats any selfish argument that he shouldn’t have any outside interests away from his football.

Ultimately, we care for what he does in a United shirt and it’s remarkable to see at the age of 23 he’s scored the same amount of goals for the club as Eric Cantona. The stat was tweeted by former Manchester United club journalist Sam Pilger, who currently works for Forbes.

Sitting level on goals with The King.

Unfortunately Rashford sustained a knock in the game against Liverpool, as confirmed in Solskjaer’s post-match press briefing, and we must wait until next week for any updates to know how long the manager expects him to be out.

I am convinced that right now, United are better with Rashford in the side regardless of what form he is in and he has a stronger case to be in the side than Anthony Martial.

Rashford’s next goal will see him surpass Cantona in the United goalscorer rankings.
