Manchester United’s Teden Mengi wanted in loan move

Manchester United’s Teden Mengi is reportedly wanted by several clubs on loan.

Mengi, 18, has spent his entire career with the Red Devils and after climbing his way through the club’s youth ranks, there were recent suggestions the youngster could become a first-team player.

After an impressive youth career has seen the teenager feature in 58 matches in all competitions for United’s under-18s and under-23s sides, Mengi made his long-awaited senior debut in August 2020.

However, after coming on as a substitute against LASK during his side’s Europa League campaign during the 2019-20 season, Mengi has since failed to double senior appearances.

Now back with the Red Devils’ under-23s, according to a recent report from MEN, Mengi has emerged as a loan target for several clubs.

MEN’s report does not name exactly which clubs have expressed an interest in the young defender, but interest in his services is believed to be high.

In addition to Mengi, MEN also claim the club have received interest in young midfielder Dylan Levitt, who is also wanted on loan.

It is not yet known whether or not the club’s hierarchy will allow either youngster to depart, however, with well over a week still left in the January window, there is still plenty of time for a move to be agreed.
