Fred: Manchester United going for three points at Anfield

Fred means business ahead of Manchester United’s trip to Anfield.

The Manchester United midfielder insists the team will not be happy to take just a point away from Anfield when they take-on rivals Liverpool later today.

Liverpool host United in Sunday’s top-of-the-league clash, with the Red Devils already sitting three points clear at the top of the Premier League. The game kicks off at 4:30pm UK time and Fred wants to go six points clear…

The Scousers will be desperate to get back to winning ways, especially now they have Man City as well as Leicester City breathing down their necks. It’s a fall from grace — compared to how they stormed the league last year — but Jurgen Klopp knows they will still be part of the title race.

A lot of the Liverpool press seem to think United will sit back and try hit Klopp’s side on the counter attack, and to be perfectly honest I couldn’t care less so long as it works and we get a result.

Speaking to Globoe Sporte (H/t Sport Witness), Fred said: “Dude, I don’t think anybody likes to draw too much, we’ll always go in to win.

“If it’s a draw, it’s a draw. Both teams like to play a lot, they work well on the ball.

“We’ll play to win, they’ll also go in to win. I’m sure it’s going to be a great game. For the fans, you’re going to see it’s going to be a great game too.

“But we’re not thinking about a draw, but a lot about winning, because we know we have the conditions.”
