Update on Sergio Ramos’ Real Madrid future amid Man United links

Sergio Ramos is reportedly not looking for a switch to Manchester United or Liverpool and will instead agree to new terms with Real Madrid.

According to The Athletic, Ramos is expected to commit his future to Real Madrid with a contract extension, despite links with United and Liverpool in the past week.

Not only is he a Real Madrid legend, the Spain international is club captain and it would’ve been a shock if they were to let him go without fighting to keep him. Ramos is part of the furniture at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ramos is still a top defender and he’s one with winning mentality. He scores big goals and would be a positive addition to every Premier League side, but it looks like he’ll be staying in Madrid — possibly for the remainder of his career.

While United should be looking at centre-backs in the transfer market, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be delighted with how Eric Bailly has performed lately, and his pace will be a big bonus to skipper Harry Maguire.

The Ivorian has came in and took Victor Lindelof’s place in the team.

It will be huge if United can keep Bailly fit for the rest of the season.
