Man United midfielder rejected by two Serie A clubs

Serie A giants AC and Inter Milan have reportedly rejected the chance to sign Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.

Lingard, 28, has spent most of his professional career at United since signing for their youth academy all the way back in 2000.

However, despite going on to make well over 200 senior first-team appearances for the Red Devils, the English midfielder, who has fallen well down Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pecking order, now looks odds on favourites to become one of the next stars to depart Old Trafford.

According to a recent report from Italian outlet Calciomercato both Milan clubs have recently rejected the chance to sign Lingard.

The Reds’ hierarchy recently opted to trigger a one-year contract extension in the midfielder’s deal, ensuring that should he depart, he would not leave for free.

However, according to Calciomercato’s report, the club are finding a potential suitor tough to come by.

It has been claimed that Lingard was offered to AC Milan last summer but the Rossoneri were quick to decline the approach.

Elsewhere, in a continued effort to offload the 28-year-old, United reportedly leaned on their good relationship with Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan having recently seen Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez and Romalu Lukaku all swap red for black and blue.

However, Calciomercato claim that due to economic hardships and Lingard not being an ‘exciting’ prospect, like AC, Inter also declined.
