We loved watching Scott McTominay wear the captain’s armband last night, against Watford in the FA Cup.
Seeing a player develop through the youth system and demand a place in the first-team is always brilliant as a fan. In this day and age a lot of fans seem obsessed with transfers, but there’s something special about having one of our very own products wear the Red shirt.
McTominay has gone a step further by captaining United for the first time and scoring the only goal of the game in the first-half as Watford crashed out of the FA Cup.
With a 100% success rate for tackling on Saturday, McTominay took his opportunity as captain and impressed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He also impressed the fans, leading the club the post a tweet containing a photo of McTominay as a child alongside Sir Alex Ferguson.

Little did McTominay know back then that he’d be such an important player for Manchester United’s first team.
