Premier League awards (December 2020): Good month for Manchester United

The December Premier League award nominees are in and they include two players from Manchester United as well as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer joins Carlo Ancelotti, Sean Dyche and Dean Smith in the running for December’s Barclays Manager of the Month award after impressive results at the end of 2020.

Manchester United won four of their six matches in December to close in on Premier League leaders Liverpool, only denied victory in games against Man City (Carabao Cup semi-finals) and Leicester City (league).

Meanwhile, eight players have been shortlisted for December 2020’s EA SPORTS Player of the Month award: Anwar El Ghazi, Bruno Fernandes, Emiliano Martinez, Ben Mee, Marcus Rashford, Mohamed Salah, Tomas Soucek, and John Stones.

Fernandes had another excellent month in a United shirt and helped inspire a comeback win at West Ham as a half-time substitute. He scored twice and set one up in the 6-2 hammering over rivals Leeds United. On top of that, he was involved in all three of his side’s goals against Leicester and Wolves.
