Manchester United set to offer Marcus Rashford new long-term contract

Marcus Rashford is set to be rewarded with a new contract, according to reports.

The Mirror claim the Manchester United star will be offered a new long-term contract extension at Old Trafford in the new year.

Marcus Rashford seemed to be hitting his best form on Thursday night scoring a brace against Sheffield United to add to his account of 12 goals for United already this season.

The new deal will reflect his growing influence to the side.

Rashford is currently under contract until 2023, with the option of an extra years, but we’re under the impression he’s always been looking at a long career at Old Trafford since graduating from the academy.

From United’s perspective, it would be a good idea to tie Rashy down to a new long-term deal before next summer’s Euros. This is a match-winner we’ve got on our hands, Manchester born and bRed.

He’d walk into any side in the world and surely it’s only a matter of time before he has a Premier League medal on his CV.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer building his side, he will want key components tied up to long-term deals, with that is a key part of the process. By signing a new contract Rashford is hopefully showing that he is behind the current management and believes in the direction we’re moving in.

Although United have been knocked out of the Champions League, a good run in the league could make for an interesting end to this crazy season.
