Marcus Rashford wins FIFA Fair Play award for inspirational charity work

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has been bestowed with the FIFA Fair Play award.

The England international has received the award in recognition of his inspirational charity work to end child food poverty.

Rashford went an extra mile to help those in need when football was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic. Tonight, he puts on the United shirt trying to clinch another three points for his team against the Blades.

The point I’m making in the above paragraph is, Rashford does all this tremendous charitable work while being a star for Manchester United.

With the help of businesses and other supporters, he has helped millions of children so far and he is determined to keep helping others.

During a virtual ceremony for FIFA’s The Best awards on Thursday evening, Rashford was given the FIFA Foundation prize. FIFA also made a financial contribution of $100,000 to support his cause.

“I’d just like to say thank you because I know people from other countries, they want to get involved and they want to learn and understand more about it,” Rashford said, as per ManUtd.com.

“It will have a knock-on effect because things will start to happen in other countries as well. I have had messages from other players who play in different leagues and they want to do a similar thing in their country.

“For me, it is brilliant and it is why I started it. I wanted to make change and to give people a better chance at life. It is having a good impact and it is working at the end of the day.

“The kids are looking forward instead of behind, they have got their heads up instead and down, so thank you very much.”

Rashford is a true inspiration and we love the fact he’s making us United fans proud on and off the pitch.
