Loan watch: Andreas Pereira plays first full game for Lazio – ‘The most important thing is the victory’

Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira started against newly promoted Spezia at the weekend.

The 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder played his first full match for the Biancocelesti after impressing as a substitute against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League last week.

Lazio won 2-1 after goals from Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

But we should not forget that Lazio had two goals disallowed by VAR. Felipe Caicedo and Pereira both netted goals but they were deemed offside.

Speaking to CalcioNews24 after the match, Pereira said: “I am very happy to play my first full 90 minutes.

“I really wanted the goal to be validated, but the most important thing is the victory. Now let’s think about the next battle.”

Lazio can secure their place in the Champions League round of 16 with a positive result against Brugge on Tuesday night.

Pereira has featured in 9 games for Lazio thus far this season.
