We have seen loads of social media challenges through the years and more recently former Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart tried to unleash a brand new trend.
Along with Jan Joost van Gangelen, he introduced the DM10 challenge, as a tribute to Diego Maradona, who passed away last week.
This challenge consists of two elements: shoot the ball 5 metres into the air in Maradona’s own dropkick style, while seeing how many you can do consecutively allowing for one touch each time.
Former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie attempted the challenge in Maradona’s memory, and managed 13 consecutive tries.
He also invited ex-Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand to beat his score.
Van Persie shared the video on Twitter, as seen below:
Thanks for nominating me @rafvdvaart! 13 it is ⚽️
I hereby challenge @rioferdy5 to beat my score 👊To all of you: juggle the ball in Maradona’s dropkick style, one touch, at least 5 metres high. Post your video using #DM10Challenge and let's honour one of the greats ❤️ pic.twitter.com/70L135yVzU
