Manchester United defeated Southampton in the Premier League 2 at Leigh Sports Village last night.
United summer signing Facundo Pellistri continued his impressive start to life in Manchester by scoring his first goal since his move from Penarol.
Fellow youth team players Anthony Elanga and Arnau Puigmal were also on the scoresheet.
Elanga attempted a free-kick in the first half which crashed off the wall, but his rebounded effort saw a powerful strike bounce its way past the Southampton goalkeeper.

New boy Pellistri scored United’s second on the night after being played in brilliantly by Shola Shoretire. He was never in doubt after reaching the box.
United won it late on as Puigmal poked the ball in from close range after a superb counter-attack.
Another win for Neil Wood’s side in the bag, and hopefully many more to come.
