Recent reports linking Man United with Brighton’s Ben White not to be believed

Evening reports have emerged claiming Manchester United, alongside Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are all monitoring Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White.

White, 23, joined Brighton’s youth academy from Southampton’s all the way back in 2014 and after a hugely impressive loan spell with Leeds United, the young defender has gone on to force his way into the Seagull’s senior first-team.

Having already featured in 11 matches in all competitions this season, White has grown to become one of Graham Potters’ most trusted centre-backs.

However, despite only signing a new five-year long contract last year, reports this evening have hinted that the 23-year-old could be set for a move away from The Amex.

Sky Sports have reported that top-six trio United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are all monitoring the South Coast defender.

However, a close source has revealed to Stretty News that these reports are likely to be nothing more than ‘agent talk’ in the hope of drumming interest in the defender.

We understand that White’s representative has been so desperate for the 23-year-old to jump ship, he relentlessly tried to convince him to sign for Leeds on a permanent deal before the Englishman penned a new deal with his current club.

According to our source, there is a feeling among some of White’s Brighton team-mates that the 23-year-old hasn’t performed to a high enough standard so far, this season.

Suggestions even White’s own team-mates think he needs to up his game only prompt further questions as to why three of the country’s biggest clubs would be looking to acquire an out-of-form player.
