Man United’s Paul Pogba missing from squad just hours before kick-off against West Brom

The Manchester United matchday squad to face West Brom in the Premier League later tonight have arrived at the Lowry Hotel, however, the Reds’ star midfielder Paul Pogba was not among the United arrivals.

Pogba, 27, has come under intense fire throughout his four-year, second spell at Old Trafford, however, the heat has been turned up a notch in recent weeks.

A series of inconsistent performances mixed with a spate of individual errors have seen the Frenchman come in for some harsh criticism from both fans and pundits alike.

Whilst away on international duty earlier this week, Pogba didn’t help his cause after continually speculating over his own future by hinting he could be open to moving on from United.

More recently, The Athletic ran a report which claimed United’s World Cup winner could be preparing to let his contract run down until it expires in 2022 and eventually leave Old Trafford free.

The latest in the ongoing-saga surrounding the 27-year-old comes from Manchester Evening News’ chief football writer Samuel Luckhurst who has reported that Pogba was not among the United squad who arrived at the Lowry Hotel earlier this afternoon.

United are set to host West Brom at Old Trafford later this evening with the game scheduled to kick-off at 8pm UK time.

According to Manchester Evening News, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s confirmed matchday squad list (so far), is:

David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Lee Grant, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Axel Tuanzebe, Harry Maguire, Alex Telles, Brandon Williams, Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek, Fred, Scott McTominay, Daniel James, Juan Mata, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial
