Reporter claims Rashford and Sancho were convinced they’d be team-mates this season

TV 2’s reporter Fredrik A. Filtvedt has claimed that Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho were convinced they’d be playing together at Old Trafford this season.

Sancho, 20, joined Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City’s youth academy in 2017 in a move which cost the Black and Yellows £7.05m, as per TransferMarkt.

The 20-year-old emerged as a summer transfer target for United after a superb campaign last time out saw the winger be directly involved in a whopping 40 goals from 44 matches in all competitions.

However, despite United offering Borussia Dortmund upwards of £91m for their star-attacker’s services, as per Sky Sports, a summer deal failed to materialise.

The ongoing Sancho-saga looks set to rumble on though with the latest coming from TV 2 reporter Filtvedt who claims the Dortmund winger and United’s Rashford who are international team-mates ‘believed’ they’d be playing for the Reds together this season.

Of course, Sancho remains with Borussia Dortmund but Filtvedt has also claimed that the 20-year-old still remains a long-term target for United who could make another approach for his services further down the line.
