Video: David de Gea denies certain goal with stunning save from close range vs Newcastle

In the 50th minute of Manchester United’s clash against Newcastle, David de Gea pulled out a moment of magic to deny the Magpies from taking the lead.

Allan Saint-Maximin continued to show that he’s Newcastle live wire by embarrassing both Scott McTominay and Victor Lindelof with some fine dribbling and skill.

The Frenchman then floated the ball perfectly into the six-yard area, with Callum Wilson poking the ball towards the goal.

It looked destine to hit the back of the net but De Gea clawed down to knock the ball away with a strong hand, the second time he’s made a quality stop tonight after this in the first-half.

That’s twice that De Gea has bailed out the defence after they’ve been made to look like schoolboys by Saint-Maximin – we won’t get so lucky again.
