Video: Sky Sports News reporter explains how late Roma left Smalling deal on deadline day

Chris Smalling has officially signed for AS Roma.

After a summer-long transfer saga Manchester United have agreed to sell the centre-back to the Italian club, where he impressed last season on loan.

The transfer fee is believed to be worth £15m plus add-ons.

Sky Sports News ran the breaking news, with Valentina Fass saying: “They literally deposited 4 minutes before deadline day finish!”

Fass adds that Smalling will fly back to Rome tomorrow.

So, Roma left it late but got their business done.

While Manchester United can’t say the same as they’ve ended their summer pursuit of Jadon Sancho, as per The Sun.

  1. I don’t think Ole knows what his doing selling one of United best defenders. Maguire is not half has good as Smalling. Ole cannot or field a team that can play as a whole. He buys players but don’t know what to do with them or don’t even have any reason for signing them. His not the one for the United job. United needs a coach with the capabilities of Fergie, recognizing quality. Maguire doesn’t have that quality of a great defend nor to lead a team
