(Video) Gary Neville says Southgate is the perfect man to resolve Greenwood/Foden situation

Gary Neville thinks England manager Gareth Southgate is most capable of making decisions when things aren’t right.

Greenwood and Foden were axed from Southgate’s squad for breaching biosecure COVID-19 protocols.

The former Manchester United man trusts Southgate because he’s got plenty of experience from his playing days with these sort of incidents.

Neville explains that while he was international team-mates with Southgate they experienced controversial instances.

Watch below (via The Sun):

The England manager will presumably make it clear he doesn’t want a bad word written about the pair when away with the Three Lions, but at the same time he will want them developing in and around the team.

He’s not going to give an emerging star like Greenwood the cold shoulder if the youngsters owes up to his wrongdoings. That said, he has apologised via ManUtd.com.

The media will make a big deal out of it like they do whenever a United player gets a slap on the wrist, so Greenwood isn’t the first player of ours to be in the spotlight for negative reasons. I’d argue it’s made some of our best players grow up at points in their career, too.

Greenwood will be backed as soon as he puts on the United shirt.
