Video: Harry Kane lauds ‘complete goalscorer’ Mason Greenwood after England training

Harry Kane has described Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood as a ‘complete goalscorer’ after being impressed by the teenager during England training.

Greenwood was handed his first senior Three Lions call-up by Gareth Southgate for UEFA Nations League games against Iceland and Denmark last month.

The United starlet excelled when football resumed after lockdown, establishing himself as an integral member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Solskjaer has already described Greenwood as the most natural finisher at Old Trafford and Kane has echoed the Norwegian’s praise about his ability in front of goal.

Kane has 32 goals in 45 international caps and training with the proven striker can only enhance Greenwood’s development.

The year delay of the European Championships may have benefitted Greenwood who now has another full season to stake a claim for his place in Southgate’s side.

Despite a stellar breakthrough season, if the tournament had gone ahead as planned this summer, it would have come a little too soon for the 18-year-old.

Greenwood could make his international debut as England take on Iceland in Reykjavik on Saturday before facing Denmark in Copenhagen just three days later.
