Manchester United goalkeeper Matej Kovar is edging closer to a season-long loan move to League One side Swindon Town.
Kovar was named in United’s Europa League squad for the 2019/20 season and is regarded very highly at Old Trafford.
The Czech Republic youth international is one of several United youngsters that will be allowed to leave on loan next season as he looks to accelerate his development with some first-team experience.
Sun journalist Alan Nixon, who first broke Swindon’s interest in Kovar, recently tweeted ‘Swindon. Man U keeper Kovar is in the building’, insinuating that a deal is imminent for the 19-year-old.
Nixon revealed last Sunday that United have granted a temporary exit for Kovar, who is currently behind David De Gea, Dean Henderson, Sergio Romero, Nathan Bishop and Lee Grant in the goalkeeping pecking order at the club.
Kovar made 11 appearances for Neil Wood’s Under-23’s in the Premier League 2 Division 2 before the 2019/20 campaign was curtailed early because of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Manchester Evening News report that academy stars James Garner, Dylan Levitt, Ethan Galbraith and Di’shon Bernard are also in line for loan moves in the summer transfer window.
