Brandon Williams recalls an incident that happened when he was allowed to park outside Manchester United’s training facility for the first time.
The young left-back revealed how former United captain Ashley Young almost got him into trouble with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Williams, who has had a great season emerging from the youth teams, told BBC: “There was a prank done on me by Ashley Young. It was the first time I was allowed to park in the first-team car park.
“Ashley got one of the kit men to take my car and parked it in the manager’s spot. I ran in quickly, got my keys, move it. I think I got away with it.”
Young saw the opportunity to pull a prank on one of the young lads and you hear these type of stories a lot when talking about footballers and their careers. The older lads see it as an introduction to the dressing room almost, and it would have been funny had Solskjaer seen Williams’ car in his parking spot.
Luckily for the teenager, he was too smart to get outfoxed as is often the case on the pitch. Williams’ impressive performances this term has seen him compete for a place with Luke Shaw in the United starting line-up.
Next season he will hope to continue working on becoming a United regular.
He’s made 26 appearances during the current campaign and may make more if the the season restarts next month.
There is one Premier League manager who has hit out at club’s not wanting to return to action, saying: “If you don’t want to play, stay at home and watch Bundesliga.” Who said this?
We’ve listed four Bundesliga matches that United fans should be keeping an eye on this weekend.
