Former United youngster laughs at having more Premier League titles than Steven Gerrard

Former Manchester United youth academy graduate Luke Chadwick was part of our 2000-01 Premier League winning side.

As a result, Chadwick has more Premier League titles than Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard.

He managed to do it in a short career at the top but Gerrard, who spent most of his career in the top-flight, retired as a player with no Premier League titles.

This season Liverpool will be crowned champions for the first time in 30-years. I take a little comfort in knowing Slippy G will still be nowhere near lifting it as his own.

Something Chadwick was able to do.

Chadwick took to Twitter, saying: “Chadwick 1-0 Gerrard. I get this said to me so much, not sure if it’s a compliment or insult.

“I’m fully aware I didn’t play a huge part when winning my medal, but still something I’m honoured and proud of. I was a journeyman he was a superstar, but I still loved the journey.”

By no means is that an insult, Luke. You must bask in your glory now knowing Gerrard will never win the Premier League as a player. You did so with Manchester United!

I’ve asked Chadwick to come on the Strettycast, so let’s see what happens on that front.

It would be great to ask him more about this and his career in English football.
