Video: Former Man Utd winger thinks Solskjaer should start Ighalo against Chelsea

Former Manchester United winger Ben Thornley believes Odion Ighalo is ready to go straight into the starting eleven against Chelsea on Monday night.

Ighalo arrived at United’s Carrington training base to train with his new teammates for the first time on Sunday morning.

United’s deadline day signing missed the warm weather training camp in Marbella this week over concerns he would not be allowed back into the country over Coronavirus fears.

Ighalo, 30, has signed on a loan deal until the end of the season so does not have much time left to make an impact at Old Trafford.

And given he is training with his new teammates for the very first time a day before the match, it seems very unlikely he will be thrown straight into the deep end.

But Thornley believes Ighalo has the striker’s instinct in the box that the Reds have been lacking and should be thrown straight into the mix at Stamford Bridge.

This is a crucial game for the Reds’ Champions League hopes and we expect to see Ighalo start on the bench against Frank Lampard’s side.
