Inter Milan table £1.2m-a-season contract offer for Man Utd youngster

Although he has failed to impress in the Manchester United first-team, 20-year-old Tahith Chong could be set for a move to Italy.

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, cited by the Mail, the youngster has been offered a deal worth £1.2m per season with Inter Milan.

The Italians are now said to be waiting on a response.

Chong is out of contract in the summer, and there has been no indication from the player that he wants to continue his stay at Old Trafford.

We wrote about that this week — and how Chong doesn’t need to rush his way out of United. This is a player with raw potential and he needs to be patient with his development. I don’t get the impression Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t have plans for the Dutch winger, but he should be focused on signing a new deal and going out on loan next season.

Of course, transferring from Manchester to Milan is a regular occurrence these days. With Ashley Young, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez all having moved to the San Siro. Chong would be in familiar company.

He should be warned the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
