‘I’m not happy’: Emre Can on his frustration at Juventus amid Man Utd links

Emre Can has opened up on his frustrations at his lack of game time at Juventus.

The former Liverpool midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months, after failing to impress new boss Maurizio Sarri.

Sky Sports reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on bringing the 25-year-old in January to Old Trafford to boost his midfield options.

“I’m just an ambitious guy who always wants to compete at the highest level,” Can told Kicker as quoted by the Metro.

“But I’m also learning from this tough time when things are not going the way I was hoping.

“I’m not playing games from the start, so I’m not happy, but I will stay strong and keep working on myself.”

Can moved to Juventus on a free transfer from Liverpool after spending four seasons at the Anfield club.

He made a solid start to his career in Italy, making 29 appearances in his first season. But he has since started just one Serie A game this season and is clearly out-of-favour with Sarri.

It looks like Can could be heading for the exit door this winter, and is one of the more realistic transfer options for Solskjaer.

According to Calciomercato, the German midfielder is available for as little as £15m, despite having a release clause of £39m.

Can is certainly someone who could add something to this United squad.

The Reds are still short in options in midfield after Ander Herrera was not replaced this summer, and Can is a versatile player with Premier League experience who could be signed in a cut-price deal, approaching the prime years of his career.
