Man Utd target Koulibaly refuses to rule out transfer; Napoli to demand £107m for star defender

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has been speaking about his future following his national side Senegal’s victory over Tanzania in the African Cup of Nations.

The 28-year-old refused to commit his future to the Serie A club next season.

“I don’t know [if I’ll still be at Napoli next year], I think so,” Koulibaly told Goal as per Manchester Evening News.

“But I have to play the Afcon and then after that I’ll go back to Napoli.

“Everyone’s speaking about me, but I’m only speaking about Senegal, because that’s my objective today and I want to achieve something big with Senegal.”

Koulibaly does not seem certain here that his future lies in Naples. The Senegalese international is widely regarded as one of the most established defenders across Europe, and would be the world-class centre back that could help solve United’s problems this summer.

However, Tuttosport report that United are behind Juventus and Manchester City in the race to sign Koulibaly.

United can’t afford to miss out on such a high quality defender if the player does indeed leave Napoli this summer. The option of rejoining previous manager Maurico Sarri at Juventus and playing Champions League football may be an attractive prospect for Koulibaly if his heart is set on a move away this summer.
