‘I’m quite certain’ – Balague claims there’s another PL midfielder Real Madrid want more than Pogba

For months it has been rumoured that Real Madrid will consider a summer move for one of (maybe both?) Paul Pogba and Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen.

Zinedine Zidane is preparing for a busy summer at Real Madrid knowing his squad needs a revamp after a difficult season with the Spanish giants finishing up emptyhanded.

That’s unacceptable at Los Blancos and you can be sure they will be working to make amends once the transfer window opens.

Croatia international Luka Modric could be one of the players set to be axed at the Bernabeu, according to Guillem Balague, as per The Express, where he also states Madrid have decided who they want to sign to replace him.

“I’m quite certain Florentino Perez and the club would like Eriksen instead,” the well-known Spanish journalist said. “[He would be] cheaper and a more Real Madrid player.

“Modric I believe they want to sell because they need to raise money, so you don’t have Modric but you have Eriksen, that’s sorted out.”

It would come as a major blow to Pogba if Real Madrid decided to suddenly drop interest in signing him.

Moreover, United have been linked with a move for Eriksen, as per the Daily Mail, which could also see him become United’s replacement for the French midfielder.

Because if the Telegraph’s James Ducker is to be believed and Pogba is telling people he doesn’t want to play in the Europa League, it’s about time we move him on and find someone willing to fight for the shirt.
